Hyndburn Bereavement Support Group

Providing Comfort, Connection, and Support After Loss

Who Are We?

A new chapter for our bereavement support group

For many years, the Hyndburn Bereavement Support Group has offered a welcoming place for local people following a bereavement. From October 2026, the group is evolving into the Champ Grief Support Group by Lianna Champ.

We are keeping the warmth, friendship and understanding that have always been at the heart of the group, while introducing a little more structure to help people understand their grief and find practical ways of living alongside it. Rather than a drop-in group, Champ Grief Support is now a free six-session guided programme, followed by our Full Circle gathering. Each new small group travels through the programme together, helping to create trust, familiarity and a sense of safety.

Our Support Group

When and where?

The next Champ Grief Support Group begins:

Tuesday 6 October 2026  7.00pm – 9.00pm in the Family Lounge at Champ Funeral Home

The programme consists of six sessions followed by our Full Circle gathering. There is no charge to attend. Places do need to be booked in advance because the same small group travels through all six sessions together.

A different way of thinking about grief

We do not believe grief is something you simply ‘get over’, we believe that grief is love looking for somewhere to land 🤍

What You Can Expect

  • A safe and understanding space to talk about your loss
  • The chance to share your story with those who truly understand
  • Practical coping strategies and guidance to help you through
  • A welcoming community where friendships and support flourish

What happens at the group?

Each session explores a different part of grief in a simple and very human way.

We talk about the things people often experience after someone dies but may find difficult to explain to anyone else. There are gentle conversations, practical exercises and time for quiet reflection.

You will also receive your own Champ Journal, created to accompany you through the programme. It contains thoughts, questions and exercises that can help you make sense of what you are carrying, both during the sessions and in your own time. You never have to share anything you would rather keep private. Being here is enough.

One-to-One Support

Grief is personal. Whether it stems from the loss of a loved one, a broken relationship, a lost dream, or life’s unexpected changes, it can feel overwhelming and incredibly isolating.

You don’t have to face it alone.

If group support doesn’t feel right for you, or you simply have the need for something more personal, we offer one-to-one support sessions tailored to your individual grief journey.

We start with a free initial consultation to understand your needs and develop a personalised support plan, because your experience is unique, your support should be too.

If a private, compassionate space feels right for you, please reach out.
